Listen to Color Me Gone, lyrics and music by Peter Forêt
recorded at studioNINE

A re-write from our Peter and the Wolves album “Love/Hate Thing”. Originally written and recorded as a Southern rock/country swing tune, this version has a jazz/rock, Steely Dan feel to it. Inspired by my dear friend and jazz mentor Jack Bangrazi.

Color me lonely color me color blue color me tired of waitin’ on you
Your true colors are shinin’ through color me gone
I don’t need an explanation don’t want to hear a lame excuse
So bye bye baby maybe it’s time to cut you loose

Color me gone, gone, gone, color me gone
Color us history life goes on
I’ve worn these chains so long color me right color you wrong
Color me down color me out color me gone

Color my heart color it black how do I look with your knife in my back
Got my ticket my bags are packed color me gone
You don’t seem to care that we once shared a sweet romance
Better face the facts I can’t turn back I’ve made my travel plans

Color me gone, gone, gone, color me gone
Color us history life goes on
I’ve worn these chains so long color me right color you wrong
Color me down color me out color me gone
